Reherniation
In cases of severe CDH, it is usually necessary to sew synthetic material into the diaphragm (a patch). As the child grows, the diaphragm also grows, unlike the sewn-in patch. Therefore, there is a risk of reherniation. If reherniation occurs, your baby will require an additional hernia repair surgery using a synthetic mesh.
