Prenatal treatment

Like any other medical procedure, FETO procedure (fetoscopic endotracheal occlusion) as well as the procedure of fetoscopic puncture and removal of the endotracheal balloon from the baby’s airway can be associated with complications. Typically, complications occur in no more than 1-2% of children. The most common complications include premature drainage of amniotic fluid, bleeding, preterm delivery and infection. In exceptional and very rare cases, intrauterine fetal death may occur.
